Kayaking and hot springs

Kayaking From Heydalur

Mjóifjörður (e. Narrow Fjord) is a great fjord for kayaking. The magnificent view outward Mjóifjörður towards the Drangajökull glacier makes kayaking among the seals and the seabirds in the fjord an unforgettable adventure.

We offer two different tours to Mjóifjörður.

Shorter ride: Paddle from Heydalur to a small primitive hot pot at the shore in Hörgshlíð where you can loosen up your stiffened muscles in the natural hot water. After a short dip, the group gets dressed and rows back to Heydalur.

Longer ride: Paddled from Látrar among the seabirds and seals. Do not be surprised if an occasional whale is observed in the surroundings. When ashore snack will be served. Trip ends in the geothermal hot pool in Heydalur and swimwear are thus recommended.
